Veteran actor Christopher Plummer is determined to keep working for as long as he can because he's convinced retirement isn't healthy.
The 81 year old has enjoyed a career spanning more than 50 years and his prolific film work includes famed roles in The Sound of Music and The Man Who Would Be King, while he has continued to find success with more recent parts in Up and an Oscar-nominated turn in The Last Station.
Plummer has a number of film projects on the horizon including a part in Hollywood's highly-anticipated The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo remake, and he is determined to keep making movies throughout his eighties.
He tells the Associated Press, "I'm glad (my ambition) is still there. If it faded, what's there to live for? It makes you appreciate other things if you keep working at your job and you love your job. Too many people in the world are unhappy with their lot. And then they retire and they become vegetables. I think retirement in any profession is death, so I'm determined to keep cracking."
