It is almost summer and that can only mean one thing ? time to get that swimwear ready! Now while just the thought of swimwear may send a load of women throwing their arms in the air and running for the hills, we would like to offer you some tips which may just help in finding the perfect piece of plus size swimwear to show off your curvy figure.
Tip #1: Picking the Right Size Swimsuit
It is very important to remember that while every woman needs that perfect piece of plus size swimwear, swimsuits are measured like other pieces of clothing. It is a good idea to buy more than one piece and experiment one to two sizes larger than your normal clothing measurements. This should avoid unsightly bulges, so it is important not to get hung up on the number on the size label ? the fit is what counts. Once you are in the swimsuit that you like, move around a bit in it. This will make sure the suit will not ride or gather up more than it is supposed to.
Tip #2: Getting a Flattering Style
It is important to find what looks good on your frame as well as what does not because there are so many styles of bathing suits on the market, it is easy to get something unflattering. For example, if you on the look out for a Tankini, you should make sure that the stomach part of the suit sits flat along your tummy and yet not overly stretched. If it ends up being way too tight, your stomach may stick out, which is probably not the look you were going for.
The general rules of fashion do also apply to swimwear and so are important to bear in mind when choosing swimsuit styles. Vertical stripes tend to be much more flattering on fuller figured women than horizontal stripes. Thinner stripes are also more flattering than thicker stripes. As are lots of stripes compared with fewer stripes.
Tip #3: Now You Have the Top, Pick the Perfect Bottom
Once it is time to try on a swimsuit bottom, you should make certain that your skin is not bulging out at the waistline as well as at the leg area. If there is skin bulging out in either of those areas, then try going up a size. If you do go up a size and still find a problem, perhaps you should try a different style bottom.
As a rule, plus size ladies want to go for a bottom which has a leg opening at least one inch below the hip bone ? this tends to be the most flattering. Please remember that whatever bottoms you get, they will stretch once you get into the water, so it is important that they are snug enough so they will not look saggy when you step out of the pool or beach.
You will no doubt find the perfect piece of plus size swimwear for your body type with these tips. When in doubt, grab a sexy one-piece and flaunt those shoulders. Now go enjoy the summer!
