The seaside towns Whitstable?& Herne Bay are the fastest growing seaside resorts in the country so says a new survey.
The survey revealed the growth of tourism-related businesses, expansion in visitor numbers at tourist attractions and the number of people employed in the leisure industry.
The Civil Service & Motoring Association Club (CMSA) has revealed
high-end tourism is on the increase, with upmarket boutiques, antique shops,
art galleries and Michelin star restaurants proving popular seaside draws.
The Romans knew a thing or two about the attractions of the seaside; oysters
from Whitstable were shipped all over Europe and were renowned for being the best
in the Empire. Nowadays foodie?folk from London flock to Whitstable which has assumed the soubriquet Notting-Hill-on-Sea.
The fastest growing seaside survey shows Whitstable and Herne Bay beat
Eastbourne?& Penzance into second and third place.
