London Heathrow cancels flights ahead of snow

Thirty percent of flights at London's Heathrow Airport on Sunday have been canceled amid forecasts for snow and severe weather in London.

BAA, the owner of the airport, one of the world's busiest, said it had reached an agreement with Heathrow airlines and air traffic control to reduce the flight schedule for Sunday to "minimize the disruption to passengers" caused by the heavy snowfall expected to fall at the airport starting later Saturday.

Britain's Met Office has issued a severe weather warning and forecasters are predicting up to about 6 inches of snow.

BAA said a revised schedule showing which flights will operate on Sunday will be posted online at around 1 p.m. EST Saturday.
